Something about spring just gives you that motivation you need to get things done. Remodeling, cleaning, redecorating, all seem more easy to achieve now that the weather is warmer. If you’ve had a long and dreary winter, dreaming about all the things you can do to improve your home, now is your chance! Here are a few easy spring updates to make to your landscaping.
Plant a tree
Adding a tree or two to your existing landscape is not only a smart move because it will add to your landscape and provide shade, but it can actually increase the value of your property! Trees are such a smart move for your landscaping, and is a relatively easy project to accomplish yourself in an afternoon.
Add a planter to your porch
Your porch is a highly under-appreciated part of your landscaping. A bare porch isn’t doing you any favors, but it doesn’t take a lot to make your porch stunning. You don’t want to make it cluttered, but a few key things on your porch can make a bigger difference than you realize. A few planters is the perfect place to start. Pick a plant that does well in a slightly shaded area, and position them in planters by the door. You can pick tall or short planters, whatever works better for your situation.
Install a sprinkler system
If you have a lawn or any sort of garden, it’s a good idea to have a sprinkler system in place so you don’t have to do all of the watering by hand. This will be such a time saving update, and will pay for itself in lost water in a matter of a few short months.
Reseed your lawn
It’s pretty natural for your lawn to look pretty drab and dead after winter has come to an end. If you look out your window and see some brown grass, then you can easily fix it by reseeding your lawn. Grass seed isn’t expensive, just make sure you are getting the same seed as you currently have in your lawn so it all matches as it grows back. This is the perfect time to reseed, before you have warmer weather and want to spend time on your lawn.
